Luke Wypler’s Ohio State career has come to a close. The Buckeye lineman is leaving early and going to pro.

Wypler thanked Buckeye Nation, coaches and teammates in his farewell note, formally declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft.

“Football means the world to me.

“It has been my passion from the moment I first put on pads at the age of seven. Growing up, I worked hard to give myself the opportunity to play college football at the highest level. To compete as a Buckeye at The Ohio State University − the best university in the country − has been the privilege of a lifetime.

“It took an extraordinary support team to get to this moment. My career officially started in high school, at St. Joseph Regional HS in New Jersey. While there, Coach Hoffman and Coach Coccaro prepared me for the next level. And what a next level it was. The Ohio State was a dream. Buckeye nation. My teammates. Coach Day. Coach Frye. The entire, coaching, training and support staff. You help men prepare and compete at their best. Thank you.

“Lastly, Mom and Dad, my entire family − thank you. Thank you for always supporting and believing in me.

“Now it is time for the next step. I am officially declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft.”

Wypler was a multi-season starter at center for the Buckeyes.
