Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal was pretty classy following his team’s big upset win over the Buckeyes on Saturday.
After he shook hands with Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day, he wanted to make sure no one on his team put anything near the logo. That’s a stark contrast to what happened when Oklahoma upset Ohio State in Columbus a few years ago as Baker Mayfield planted the Sooners flag right on the logo.
In the video below, Cristobal says, “Nothing on the 50-yard line. Nothing on the logo. Nothing. Respect our opponent.”
Classy. A ton of respect for Cristobal.

For a lot of people, this is the proper way to go about things as you want to respect your opponent for a hard-fought game.
The Ducks ended up winning by a touchdown on Saturday (35-28) and did a lot of damage on the ground. Running back CJ Verdell had 20 carries for 161 yards, plus 2 touchdowns on 8 yards a carry. Travis Dye also had a rushing touchdown, plus 43 yards on the ground.
Oregon’s next contest will be against Stony Brook this Saturday and even though that game will be in Eugene, Cristobal will likely be just as classy towards his opponent.
