Marvin Harrison Jr. has captured the B1G’s top offensive honor, landing the league’s Offensive Player of the Year award. He was announced as the recipient Wednesday afternoon during a BTN broadcast.

There was some stiff competition for the award this year, including Michigan QB JJ McCarthy and RB Blake Corum. In the end, the honor goes to Harrison as the conference leader in nearly every major receiving category.

Harrison led the B1G this season with 1,211 receiving yards, 18.07 yards per catch, 100.9 receiving yards per game and 14 receiving touchdowns. He also produced a rushing touchdown while with the Buckeyes.

Overall, Harrison had 8 games this season with 100+ receiving yards and finished the year with a touchdown in 8 straight games. He had at least 2 touchdowns in 4 games and delivered 118 receiving yards and a touchdown in the loss to Michigan.

The win by Harrison makes it 6 straight years that an Ohio State player has won the award. He joins a list of QBs that includes Dwayne Haskins, Justin Fields and CJ Stroud as recent Buckeyes to win the honor.
