Marvin Harrison Jr. lands in top 5 of latest NFL mock draft
Marvin Harrison Jr. is still trending toward being a top-5 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The former Ohio State wideout landed at No. 3 in the latest mock from NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah on Tuesday. Jeremiah’s projection has Harrison being selected by the New England Patriots.
Here’s some brief analysis from Jeremiah on the pick:
“In this scenario, the Patriots go the veteran route to fill the need at quarterback, which frees them up to trade the No. 3 overall pick or take the uber-talented Harrison.”
Harrison is coming off of back-to-back 1,200 yard seasons with Ohio State. He’s long been considered a top prospect in this draft and is expected to be the first wide receiver off the board in a loaded class for that position.
Harrison is the only former Ohio State player to be included in this mock. The Buckeyes have produced multiple 1st-round picks in each of the past 2 drafts.
Harrison is currently the favorite to be the first non-quarterback selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. At DraftKings, Harrison is -650 for that honor as of publication. Here’s more info on Ohio Sportsbooks and how you can place a wager on that prop.
This would not necessarily be the best landing spot for Harrison, as the Patriots are still searching for their quarterback of the future. New England benched Mac Jones toward the end of last season and is thought to be exploring the QB market — potentially in the draft, via trade or free agency — this offseason.
There’s still a long way to go in the pre-draft process. The NFL combine will begin later this month with the 2024 NFL Draft schedule for April 25-27.
