Marvin Harrison Jr. is making his case to be one of the all-time legends for Ohio State at the wide receiver position. However, in ranking his Mt. Rushmore of Buckeye receivers, he omitted himself while struggling to narrow down his field of candidates.

“Cris Carter would be up there. Man, that’s tough,” Harrison told Ohio State WRs coach and OC Brian Hartline during the latest “Tradition Talk” segment. “Michael Jenkins. Terry Glenn, I think his last year, I know he won the Biletnikoff Award. I was trying to join that list so I’ll put him up there. I want to say Chris Olave. He did it for 3 years, he’s productive sophomore to senior year so I’ll put Chris Olave up there.”

For his personal picks, Hartline went way back with adding Paul Warfield — “the original wideout” — to his list. Hartline also referenced David Boston and Garrett Wilson as players worthy of consideration for selection.

Marvin Harrison Jr.’s 2023 outlook

While Harrison and Hartline did not recognize the current Buckeye star, he’s a player bound to be in the running if he produces another season similar to what he accomplished in 2022. In his first season as a starter, Harrison finished the year with 77 catches for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Now entering his junior season, Harrison will try and make life easy for a new starting quarterback in Ohio State’s offense. And while a decision on the NFL is still a way down the road, most analysts already project Harrison as a top-5 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
