Marvin Harrison Jr. and Ohio State are going up against Notre Dame in South Bend. That might sound like a prime moment for Harrison to scratch out a statement performance, but that was not the case for much of the first half.

In fact, Ohio State did not get a single target for Harrison until under 4 minutes to play in the first half. Unsurprisingly, that led the Buckeyes to punt twice and then have a turnover on downs from the 1-yard line during their first 3 offensive possessions.

Ohio State QB Kyle McCord did eventually hit Harrison with a short slant on first down at around the 3:40 mark to try and get the connection going. Coming into Week 4, Harrison had produced back-to-back weeks with at least 100 yards receiving.

Harrison did get a couple of other targets on the final drive of the first half, but neither was particularly fruitful. One yielded a pass interference with Harrison unable to corral it while the other was a pass breakup for Notre Dame’s Benjamin Morrison on a short route.

Ohio State did generate a drive into the red zone but had to settle for a field goal late in the first half. Here’s how fans and media reacted to the lack of overall targets for Harrison:
