Marvin Harrison Jr. has been impressed by what he’s seen from Carnell Tate so far. While speaking with the media, Harrison claimed that the true freshman is “farther along” than he was as a sophomore.
That’s pretty high praise from Harrison, considering he led the Buckeyes in every receiving category as a sophomore in 2022.
“He’s amazing,” Harrison said of Tate. “Handles his business. He’s always in the right spot, catches the ball, runs great routes. So I’m excited to really see, you know, what his career looks like. I think he could be one of the best receivers to ever come from Ohio State.”
Considering Harrison will likely be one of the best receivers to come from OSU himself, it sets the expectations quite high for Tate.
Tate was a 4-star recruit out of IMG Academy and was the No. 9 WR in the 2023 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. The freshman joins Brian Hartline’s loaded receiver room that features Harrison, Emeka Egbuka, Julian Fleming and others.
Marvin Harrison Jr. believes Carnell Tate is in a better spot now than he was entering his sophomore year (when he won numerous awards).
