Marvin Harrison Jr. weighed in on the debate surrounding the idea of a rivalry game against Penn State.

There have been questions about whether or not Ohio State and Penn State are rivals, but the bad blood and great games year in and year out make it clear that the 2 teams are rivals. On Wednesday, the star receiver for the Buckeyes offered his thoughts.

Harrison believes the 2 are rivals, pointing to the games that he has been involved in as clear evidence.

“Yes, I think it is a rivalry game,” Harrison said. “I don’t know too much about the history between Ohio State and Penn State. I know the games have been close in recent history, coming down to usually that 4th quarter. One team kind of pulls away or the other.”

Regardless of what people have to say about it being a rivalry, Harrison knows that the game is a must-win if Ohio State wants to reach its goals at the end of the season, which are a B1G Championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff.

“I think for the goals that we’re trying to accomplish as a team, to get to the Big Ten Championship, Penn State is definitely one of those teams year in and year out that you’re going to have to go through to reach that goal,” he said.

Last year, Ohio State got the best of the Nittany Lions, but this year both teams come into the game undefeated, looking for a huge win to propel them towards reaching the CFP. The Buckeyes will be slim favorites at home, and fans can check out the action via Tradition’s BetMGM Ohio promo code!
