Stadium’s Brett McMurphy has made it clear that he believes Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer deserved more than a three-game suspension. He’s said he’s surprised that the three-time national championship coach still has a job.

Meyer will be back on the Buckeye sideline in 2018, but McMurphy offered an interesting, and bold, prediction regarding the head coach’s future.

Thursday, McMurphy joined John Canzano on the Bald Faced Truth radio show to talk about Meyer’s situation in Columbus.

“I would be stunned if Urban Meyer coaches (at Ohio State) after the end of this season,” said McMurphy. He said he expects Meyer will step away from the program at the conclusion of the 2018 season.

“He had heart issues at Florida,” McMurphy said. “Now he has a memory problem? He has no problem remembering to text a recruit at midnight, he has no problem with what play to call on fourth and 1 against Michigan. I’ll take it at face value, all Urban Meyer has demonstrated over the years is that he has a problem telling the truth.”

Meyer famously stepped away from coaching at Florida after the 2010 season, citing health concerns as the reason for his departure.

He then accepted the job to become the head coach at Ohio State in 2011.
