Saints fans were hoping for the return of WR Michael Thomas in Sunday’s game against the Seahawks, but they’ll have to wait another week.

Thomas has been out since suffering a foot injury in the Week 3 game against the Panthers, where he had 5 catches for 49 yards. Thomas missed 3 consecutive practices, but was thought to be likely return this week. Thomas missed significant portions of the 2020 and 2021 season with nagging leg injuries.

On Sunday, sources reported that Thomas was ruled out for today’s game, but will likely be back next week for the contest against the Bengals.

Thomas was drafted by Saints in the second round with the 47th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft after a 3-year college career at Ohio State. Thomas holds the NFL record for the most receptions (510) through his first five seasons, along with the most receptions in a single season with 149.

Thomas and the Saints will face off against the Bengals next Sunday at 1 p.m. EST on CBS.
