Sometimes, the numbers get overlooked.

In the case of former Ohio State wide receiver Michael Thomas and the Pro Bowl, that’s exactly what happened.

The NFL announced that Cowboys’ receiver Dez Bryant would be replacing Atlanta’s Julio Jones on the NFC’s roster for the 2017 Pro Bowl after the Falcons’ beat Green Bay to clinch a Super Bowl berth. Thomas didn’t take the news well.

On Monday evening, Thomas sent out a slew of tweets, dropping subtle hints that he didn’t believe Bryant should’ve been the replacement candidate:

Thomas has a legitimate argument.

While Bryant is the more established NFL pass-catcher, the former Buckeye had better numbers for the 2017 season.

Thomas caught 92 passes for 1,137 yards and nine touchdowns for the Saints this last season, while Bryant had 796 yards and eight TDs on just 50 receptions.

All-Star and Pro Bowl rosters are typically filled with some of the most recognizable and popular names in the sport. So, it’s not surprising that Bryant got the nod over the rookie Thomas.

Still, Thomas’ credentials were more worthy than Bryant’s this season so his social media rant was certainly justified.

Unfortunately, Thomas’ snub means we won’t see him on the field with former teammate Ezekiel Elliott in Orlando.
