Of interest within the list are a trio of fourth-year Buckeyes who are considered red-shirt juniors, Brown, Teague and Petit-Frere.
While their names are included on the list, it doesn’t necessarily mean the players into their leaving. It does, however, provide a strong indication that they may not be returning to Columbus.
With the additional year of eligibility granted by the NCAA after last season due to COVID-19, there are only eight “super seniors” who cannot return next season: Munford, Garrett, McCall, Jackson, Williamson, Robinson, Booker and Rau.
Listed seniors not on the list are defensive ends Javontae Jean-Baptiste and Tyler Friday, defensive tackle Jerron Cage, linebackers Teradja Mitchell and Palaie Gaoteote, safety Josh Proctor and kicker Noah Ruggles. Their absence could be considered an indication that they intend to return, taking advantage of the additional year of eligibility.
After suffering season-ending injuries, Friday and Proctor are already expected to return. Cage and Ruggles have both indicated during interviews that they are still undecided about returning for another season.
