Baltimore Ravens running back J.K Dobbins appeared to sustain a potentially serious knee injury during Baltimore’s preseason finale on Saturday night.

After he went to the locker room and was pronounced “out” for the rest of the game, Dr. David J. Chao (ProFootballDoc) on Twitter chimed in with his thoughts on what the injury may be.

In Chao’s preliminary analysis, he thinks that Dobbins suffered a hyperextension of his knee after taking a direct blow to the front of it. If that’s the diagnosis when the official update comes out, that would mean Dobbins would likely only miss about a month of the regular season.

Now if the hyperextension is a lot worse with a ligament tear to go along with it, he could miss the rest of the season.

All that being said, head coach John Harbaugh spoke to the media after the game and said Dobbins is expected to get tested on Sunday. An update on his status should come soon after those tests come back.
