NFL roster: Urban Meyer expects every single offensive starter on Ohio State will be drafted
It’s no secret Ohio State has a lot of talent, but even this prediction by Urban Meyer is incredibly lofty.
During Big Noon Kickoff on FOX, the crew previewed the showdown between Nebraska and Ohio State with Meyer pointing out that today, especially in the B1G, is all about the players. Along with that, Ohio State’s offense is filled with talented players.
Meyer even went so far as to predict that all 11 offensive starters for the Buckeyes will eventually be selected in the NFL Draft. Nick Kosko with 247 Sports transcribed Meyer’s comments:
“Today is all about the players, it’s not about commissioners, it’s not about AD’s, it’s certainly not about coaches,” Meyer said. “This Is about the warriors on the field. Nebraska and Ohio State players and players families, that’s the reason they’re playing. I’m also excited to watch an historic and arguably one of the most talented Ohio State offenses of all time. Every player on the starting 11 will be drafted in the NFL. Their draft grades, I’ve watched them, I’ve talked to people, that’s 11 for 11 and even a lot of the backups. The question however will be the defense for Ohio State.”
Starting quarterback Justin Fields is the obvious choice with many analysts predicting the 2019 Heisman finalist to be a top-10 lock for the 2021 NFL Draft. Others, like sophomore Garrett Wilson, will not quite be eligible for the 2021 Draft but definitely have the talent and will likely be looked at by many teams when the time comes.
