Nick Bosa is set to make NFL history with his new extension.

According to Adam Schefter, the former Ohio State star has agreed to a 5-year extension with the San Francisco 49ers worth $170 million. Bosa is guaranteed to make $122.5 million, making him the new highest-paid defensive player ever in the league.

Bosa is entering his fifth professional season. The former first-team All-American and All-Big Ten selection at Ohio State has already racked up plenty of professional honors.

Entering the 2023 NFL season, DraftKings has set Bosa’s season-long sack total at 14.75, a number he has eclipsed each of the past 2 seasons. Fans looking to take part in the action can use our special DraftKings Ohio promo code to get started!

The 49ers selected Bosa No. 2 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. He was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year for the season and selected to his first of 3 Pro Bowls.

This past season, Bosa was selected first-team All-Pro for the first time in his career. He led the league in sacks with 18.5 last season, while recording 19 tackles for loss and 48 quarterback hits.

For his career, Bosa has 156 tackles and 43 sacks with 8 forced fumbles, 4 passes defended, 1 interception and 2 fumble recoveries. He has played in 51 regular-season contests, missing all but 2 games of the 2020 season.

Bosa and the 49ers open the 2023 season on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kickoff in Pittsburgh is set for 1 p.m. ET.
