The honors continue to pour in for former Ohio State and current San Francisco 49ers rookie defensive end Nick Bosa. The first-year lineman has really kickstarted his career in the professional ranks.

On Thursday, the 49ers announced that Bosa has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month and the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month. The announcement comes a day after Bosa was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after last Sunday’s performance against Carolina.

In the month of October, Bosa has recorded six sacks, 16 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, nine quarterback hits, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and an interception. Last week, he had a career-high three sacks against the Panthers.

Bosa has been a force for the 49ers all season long and will likely work his way into the NFL Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year conversations at the end of the season.

This week, Bosa and the 49ers travel to Arizona to take on the Cardinals.
