Ohio State is the reigning B1G champion but the FOX crew apparently doesn’t envision the Buckeyes as No. 1 contender for the national title.

FOX is televising Ohio State’s season opener at Minnesota. Here’s what the broadcasting crew had to say about the team to beat in the College Football Playoff.

That’s bound to stir up some irritation from Ohio State fans. This comes after ESPN’s Mark May deemed the season opener at Minnesota as a “huge trap game”.

Ohio State went 7-1 last season, knocking off Northwestern for the B1G title and Clemson in the College Football Playoff semis, before falling to Alabama in the national championship game.

Ohio State will have three key players out for the matchup at Minnesota. Ohio State leads the all-time series 45-7 vs Minnesota and is on a 10-game winning streak in the series.
