Noah Rogers is leaving Ohio State and heading back closer to home via the transfer portal.

A former 4-star recruit and top player from North Carolina in the 2023 recruiting class per the 247 Sports Composite, Rogers announced Thursday he will be transferring to NC State. Rogers was also the No. 53 player in the country and 8th overall WR in the cycle but he did not see much immediate playing time in Columbus.

Now, Rogers heads closer to home and Dave Doeren’s Wolfpack squad to try and carve out a role for his future:

Rogers appeared in 2 games as a freshman but could not make more of an impact in Ohio State’s ultra-deep receiver room. 5-star prospect Brandon Inniss, 4-star WR Carnell Tate and 4-star WR Bryson Rodgers were also a part of the 2023 recruiting class for the Buckeyes, and Ryan Day’s program added the nation’s No. 1 overall player in 2024 in WR Jeremiah Smith. Rodgers also announced plans to hit the portal at the end of the season.

Rogers has the talent, and he’ll have a better chance to compete for more playing time at NC State in 2024 and beyond.
