“First I want to think God for blessing us with this game that we love,” Tuimoloau said. “(I’d) like to thank the offensive line for pushing me, the defensive line for holding me accountable every day and coach J for trusting me. Go Bucks!”
Tuimoloau is apart of Ohio State’s 2021 recruiting class, but he didn’t commit until this summer. He was the last high-profile college recruit in the nation to do so, as he was focused on taking official visits in the early part of the summer.
Due to the recruiting dead period that started because of COVID-19, he wasn’t able to take official visits until June 1. He eventually chose the Buckeyes over USC, Washington and Oregon.
Tuimoloau is the No. 4 overall player in the class of 2021, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
He’s the second Buckeyes in as many days to lose his black stripe, joining Australian punter Jesse Mirco who lost his on Friday.
Ohio State opens its 2021 campaign at Minnesota on Sept. 2.
