After the Jacksonville Jaguars announced Urban Meyer would be their new head coach, Buckeyes AD Gene Smith addressed the possibility of some of the current Ohio State coaches following him there.

Smith spoke to Bill Rabinowitz of Buckeye Xtra and first congratulated Meyer on the job:

“Excited for Urban and his new opportunity,” Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith texted The Dispatch. “So thankful for his contributions to OSU, Ohio, and most importantly the student-athletes. A good friend who will be missed.”

Smith then got to the possibility that some coaches could leave and said:

“No one that I am aware of.”

That’s welcome news for Buckeyes fans as it looks like the entire staff will be back for the 2021 season. They enjoyed a great 2020 season as they got to the National Championship game but lost to Alabama, 52-24.

We’ll have to see if Meyer can convince any of the Buckeyes coaches to leave, despite Smith saying that he expects them all to stay.
