Ohio State adds game against in-state foe to future schedule
Ohio State has reigned supreme in the state of Ohio throughout its history, but another in-state foe will get a shot at dethroning the Buckeyes in 2025. Ohio is set to play Ohio State in Columbus on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, moving its proposed matchup with Illinois to a TBD date in 2028.
The Bobcats will receive $1.9 million guaranteed from the game.

Before we get to that matchup, Ohio State will stay focused on 2023 and trying to get back to the College Football Playoff. Fans looking to take part in the national title odds of the Buckeyes can use our special Caesars Ohio promo code to get started!
Shockingly, the two schools have only met on seven occasions in their history despite being only 80 miles apart. The Buckeyes hold a 6-0 advantage in the series with the 2010 contest being vacated due to NCAA infractions.
Ohio State is scheduled to open the 2025 season against Texas at the Horseshoe on Aug. 30 and will take on UConn on Oct 18. Ohio is slated to open the ’25 campaign on the road against Rutgers on Aug. 30, and the Bobcats will follow that up with a home date against West Virginia before venturing to Columbus.
Tim Albin has maintained a high standard of play in his second season at the helm after taking over for the legendary Frank Solich. The Bobcats posted one of the best turnarounds in college football last season, finishing 10-4 and winning the MAC East, and they seem poised to make another run at the conference title this season.
