Some teams load up the non-conference schedule when it comes to football.
Others will pick and choose their spots. On Thursday, news broke that Ohio State is adding Arkansas State — part of the Sun Belt Conference — to its 2022 schedule:

Arkansas State — according to the report — will be receiving $1.8 million from Ohio State to play the game. That is often the case for smaller schools traveling to take on CFB powerhouses. Usually the smaller school gets a hefty pay check and that is no different here.
Ohio State’s 2022 non-conference schedule currently consists of Arkansas State, Notre Dame and Toledo.
The Buckeyes kick off their 2019 season on Aug. 31 at home against FAU.
