Ohio State has added to its 2024 class with a commitment from Painesville (Ohio) Riverside defensive lineman Dominic Kirks.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound defender announced his pledge on Saturday. A 4-star in the industry-generated composite, Kirks picked the Buckeyes over Alabama and USC. He was also a one-time Washington commit but left the class following Kalen DeBoer’s departure for Alabama.

Washington’s loss is Ohio State’s gain. The No. 2 class in the country just got a little better.

Kirks is a fluid athlete with a basketball background. He ranks as the No. 12 prospect from the state of Ohio in the 2024 class and the No. 33 defensive lineman in the cycle. Overall, he sits at No. 251 in the national player rankings.

As a senior, Kirks piled up 43 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 11.5 sacks in seven games.

The Buckeyes signed 20 recruits from the high school ranks during the Early Signing Period in December. That class included five 5-star prospects. Buford (Ga.) High standout edge defender Eddrick Houston was among them.

Kirks joins Houston and 3-star edge Eric Mensah as front players on the defensive side of the football in the 2024 class for the Buckeyes.
