Ohio State will pay an offensive analyst more than $250,000 for the 2023 season, according to a report.

That’s per documents obtained this week by Eleven Warriors. The report says offensive analyst/advisor Joe Philbin will be paid $266,667 for this upcoming season.

Philbin’s salary is the highest amount ever paid to an analyst at Ohio State, according to Eleven Warriors.

Philbin is a former NFL head coach who has decades of experience at the game’s highest level. Most recently, he was the offensive line coach for the Dallas Cowboys from 2020-22.

He was also the head coach of the Miami Dolphins from 2012-15 and the interim head coach for the Green Bay Packers in 2018. At the college level, he last served as Iowa’s offensive line coach from 1999-2002.

Ohio State offensive coordinator Brian Hartline played for Philbin on the Dolphins when he was the head coach. Hartline’s best 2 seasons in the NFL — both over 1,000 yards — came with Philbin in charge of the Dolphins.

Todd Fitch, who also holds the title of senior advisor/analyst, will be paid $250,000, per the report.

Fitch is an Ohio native who has been an analyst with the Buckeyes since 2021. He was promoted to senior advisor/analyst earlier this offseason.

He has been the offensive coordinator at programs such as Vanderbilt, Louisiana Tech, Boston College, South Florida and East Carolina. He was also the interim head coach for the Commodores in 2020.
