Ohio State assistant coach Tony Alford discussed how TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams have played through the first 5 games of the season.

The 2 running backs have led the way in the running game for the Buckeyes. The offense has been able to remain versatile with a strong passing game and an explosive running attack with multiple options at running back.

Henderson missed the last game against Rutgers and he has had a solid start to the season. In his last game against Wisconsin, Henderson recorded his 1st 100-yard rushing game of the season. In that game, Henderson rushed for 121 yards on 21 rushing attempts. In a total of 4 games, Henderson rushed for 318 yards and 3 touchdowns.

For Williams, he became a serious factor in the backfield in recent weeks. In Week 5 against Rutgers, Williams rushed for 5 touchdowns and 189 yards. He accounted for most of the offense’s points vs. Rutgers. This was his breakout game for Ohio State. This was his 2nd consecutive 100-yard rushing game. In the Wisconsin game, Williams ran for 101 yards.

On the season, Williams rushed for 497 yards and 8 touchdowns. Ohio State has benefited from the help of Williams and Henderson. Alford defended his 2 running backs.
