Ohio State backs its 'silence the white noise' graphic for Penn State
No. 4 Ohio State is traveling to face No. 9 Penn State Saturday night.
The game is being televised on ABC and the entire country knows it’s the biggest matchup of the weekend.
Penn State has issued the game to be a White Out game, where every Nittany Lions fan at the game wears nothing but white. It’s a tradition at Penn State, and quite frankly, it’s neat to see over 100,000 people decked out in all white.
Ohio State knows the magnitude of the game. Ahead of the top 10 clash, Ohio State’s official football Twitter account released a graphic:

“Silence the white noise.”
It makes sense, doesn’t it? The Buckeyes want to silence the 100,000-plus screaming fans on Saturday night.
However, the Buckeyes have had an issue regarding silence over the offseason. That’s what many believe led to coach Urban Meyer and his three-game suspension. Here are some of the top comments under the graphic put out:

The graphic has come with some push back — and understandably so.
On Thursday afternoon, ESPN’s Dan Murphy reached out to the university for a statement regarding the graphic and its perceived message:
From an Ohio State spokesman: “That message is the same message we used before the 2016 whiteout game at Penn State. And that message is directed to our team to play really well to silence an incredible whiteout crowd at Penn State.” https://t.co/DreWbkc4Kw

There you go. Ohio State is backing its graphic. The Buckeyes meant for the graphic to symbolize Penn State’s crowd.
Do you believe them?
