Ohio State and Indiana are meeting in a Week 13 contest with a lot on the line for the Big Ten race and the College Football Playoff. It looked like the Hoosiers were potentially poised to carry a tie into halftime in that meeting, but the Buckeyes responded in a big way.

After getting the ball back with just over 5 minutes left before the half, Indiana picked up a few first downs before the defense stepped up. Kurtis Rourke would be sacked on 1st-and-10 to put the Hoosiers behind the sticks with 2 minutes left to play.

That proved to be crucial with Indiana eventually forced to punt on 4th-and-15 from its own 30-yard line. That is when disaster struck as a perfectly snapped ball slipped through James Evans’ fingers before he was eventually tackled on his own 7-yard line.

The Hoosiers would force a 3rd-and-goal situation from the 4-yard line, but the Buckeyes punched it in. A well-designed run to TreVeyon Henderson off the left side gave Ohio State a 14-7 lead, and that’s where things stand at the break.

Indiana is out to prove it can hang with the big boys in Week 13, but Ohio State is looking to keep its Big Ten title hopes alive with a win. While the Hoosiers hung tough in that first half, there were some self-inflicted wounds by the Buckeyes.

An interception off a dropped pass and a turnover on downs, both in the red zone, allowed things to stay close. If Ohio State can clean things up a bit, the Buckeyes may have a chance to pull away for a big win in the second half.
