Ohio State always has loads of talent on its roster.

And at defensive back, it’s no different. Certain schools want to claim the “DB U” title, but in recent years, it’s hard to make a case for any school other than Ohio State.

Buckeye cornerback Jeffrey Okudah is drawing a lot of attention when it comes to what he might be as an NFL prospect. Some believe he’s not just the top corner in this year’s draft class — one area scout said he’s the best to ever come out of Ohio State:

“Pat Pete. Ramsey. Whoever you want to compare him to, go ahead,” said one area scout tasked with scouting Ohio State. “He’s better than any dude that’s come out of there.”

Here’s more from the scout on Okudah:

“We’re talking about a kid who enrolled early and was a scholar athlete as a true freshman,” said the area scout. “At most schools he starts right away, but [Ohio State] had Denzel Ward and Kendall Sheffield in there. He’s the most naturally gifted cornerback I’ve seen since Ramsey—but he’s not going to worry you with his mouth.”

As many can remember, Denzel Ward — who the scout mentioned — went No. 4 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft to the Cleveland Browns. He then became a pro bowler in his rookie season.

If Okudah is anything like Ward (or Jalen Ramsey for that matter), he has a bright future ahead of him.

And it sounds like potentially, his future may be even brighter.
