Ohio State is losing a handful of extremely talented players to the 2020 NFL Draft, but cornerback Shaun Wade will not be one of them.

Saturday, Wade announced that he will be returning to Columbus for the 2020 season. That’s a huge boost for the Ohio State secondary, which will lose Jeff Okudah, Damon Arnette and Jordan Fuller this offseason. The Buckeyes are also losing defensive end Chase Young, who also declared for the NFL Draft.

Wade ended the 2019 season with 25 tackles, four stops for loss and an interception. He also forced a fumble and broke up eight passes during Ohio State’s 13-1 season and College Football Playoff appearance.

Wade has an opportunity to improve his draft stock quite a bit with another year at Ohio State, especially as the top secondary player for the Buckeyes next year. Unlike some of his other teammates, there was some uncertainty as to where Wade would land if he would’ve declared for the draft.

In his last two seasons at Ohio State, Wade has totaled 56 tackles, four interceptions and 15 pass break-ups.
