Shaun Wade is coming back…again.

Thursday evening, Wade made an announcement that he will be opting in on the 2020 season after initially declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft earlier this week. The Ohio State star made his decision with a public announcement on ESPN.

Wade opted out of the 2020 season on Monday, choosing to start training for the NFL Draft when it looked like the B1G wouldn’t be playing football this fall. But when the B1G reversed course, the Ohio State star reconsidered his options.

Wade decided to return to Columbus following the 2019 season to help improve his draft stock and win a national championship at Ohio State. With the uncertainty of the 2020 B1G season, however, the CB made the choice to solely focus on the NFL.

A return from Wade is huge news for the Buckeyes, which will now have one of the best corners in college football back on the field. It’s a big boost for Ohio State’s championship aspirations in an abbreviated 2020 season.

Wade finished the 2019 season with 25 tackles, 8 pass break-ups, 2 sacks, a forced fumble and an interception. He was a key contributor on one of the nation’s top defenses last fall, and helped the Buckeyes to a 13-1 record, a B1G title and a spot in the College Football Playoff.
