Ohio State confirms status of 2 key starters with Week 2 availability report
Ohio State is back at the Horseshoe on Saturday as it hosts Western Michigan.
The Buckeyes got off to a little of a slow start in Week 1 against Akron, but a 17-3 lead ballooned in the 2nd half as they coasted to a 52-6 win. They’ll be looking for a wire-to-wire performance against the Broncos.
Linebacker Cody Simon and offensive lineman Donovan Jackson didn’t play against the Zips, but according to the Buckeyes’ Week 2 availability report, both are available on Saturday.
Simon, a 5th-year player, posted a career-high 57 tackles in 2023, including 3.0 stops for a loss. In the offensive front, the presence of Jackson, an All-B1G 1st-team selection, will be welcomed after missing the season opener.
Safety Jayden Bonsu is out, along with OL Devontae Armstrong and wide receiver Reis Stocksdale. Running back TC Caffey is out for the season.
Ohio State and Western Michigan kick off from Ohio Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game can be seen on the Big Ten Network.
