Ohio State’s defense is loading up on veterans returning for another run in 2024. That includes Denzel Burke, the team’s top cover corner, announcing his return on Wednesday.
Now, another key piece of the secondary is confirming his return for next season. That player is Jordan Hancock, Ohio State’s leader with 2 interceptions during the 2023 season.
He shared the “breaking news” of his own decision on social media:

Hancock tied for 3rd on the Buckeyes with 5 pass breakups and added 41 total tackles, 2 sacks and 2 forced fumbles to go with his interceptions. He teamed up with Josh Proctor for an incredible pick-6 vs. Rutgers, securing an interception that started with Proctor’s pass breakup in the second half.
Ohio State’s defense continues to look better and better, even with linebackers Tommy Eichenberg and Steele Chambers departing for the NFL Draft. Along with Hancock and Burke, star safety Lathan Ransom and veteran defensive linemen Tyleik Williams and Ty Hamilton will be back.
Combined with some key transfer additions on offense, the Buckeyes are reloading in a strong fashion for next season.
