The National Football Foundation has announced the names of the 12 finalists for the William V. Campbell Trophy, awarded to the individual who is “the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.”

Of the 12 finalists named, Ohio State safety Jordan Fuller was one. He was the only player out of the B1G to earn recognition as a finalist for the prestigious award.

As a finalist, Fuller will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the 2019 National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Class. He will also travel with other finalists to the NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 10, when a winner will be announced.

The winner of the award will receive a $25,000 postgraduate scholarship. The list of 12 finalists was narrowed down from a group of 185 semifinalists.

Fuller was named a finalist because of his 3.60 grade point average in Business Marketing. He’s also been exceptional on the field for the Buckeyes this season, recording a team-high 41 tackles and two interceptions in eight games.

Ohio State is 8-0 this season.
