Shaun Wade is a dynamic defensive back for Ohio State. He is thought of as a potential NFL player down the road.

What are your thoughts on this? Should Wade have been flagged for targeting?

Probably. And in that sense, this is the right call. If you are flagged for targeting, you are ejected from the game. That’s the rule.

But maybe that’s the issue. Maybe there should be a judgment side of the ruling. Perhaps an automatic ejection isn’t the right answer.

As for now, though, that’s the rule and Wade is gone for the remainder of the game.
