A member of the 2020 recruiting class, Melton appeared in one game as a true freshman during the shortened COVID-19 season for the Buckeyes. Then, he missed the entirety of the 2021 season after an injury during spring practices.

Now, Melton is once again sidelined after an injury in the spring game. On Friday, DC Jim Knowles revealed Melton’s latest injury will make it “tough” for the defender to get on the field for the 2022 season.

Melton originally came to Ohio State as a 4-star member of the 2020 recruiting class. He was the No. 11 OLB coming out of high school.
