When is a football game over?

When the final whistle blows, right? If a team is up 62-0, sure. The game may be over realistically before it’s technically over, but, you get the point.

On Saturday, in primetime, TCU was up on Ohio State 21-13 in the third quarter. It was the biggest lead the Horned Frogs had all night.

We go back to the question — when is a football game over? When one team is up by eight in the third quarter?

Not exactly. Apparently, though, certain TCU players thought the Buckeyes were “down and out.”

That saying could again apply if TCU were up by 40 or 50 points. But eight? In the third quarter?

Ohio State proved that it certainly wasn’t down and out. The Buckeyes went on to score 20 points in roughly four minutes, which led to the 40-28 victory.

Nope, Ohio State wasn’t down and out. Not even close.
