Ohio State drops intense ‘Ohio against the world’ hype video for CFP semifinals

A win will bring Ohio State football and Ryan Day one step closer to their first elusive title since 2014. And the Buckeyes are leaning into the “Ohio against the world” mantra more than ever with the Longhorns on deck.

That was the theme of the hype video Ohio State released earlier this week for Friday’s Cotton Bowl showdown in primetime. It includes Day passionately describing what the mantra means for the program.

“When you hear about Ohio against the world, there’s a reason why we say that. There’s a reason why it’s said,” explained Day. “When you’re Ohio State, everybody is chasing you because they want what you have, and every week, we have to defend it. That’s the reason why it’s called Ohio against the world. It’s us against everybody else. That’s it.”

The Buckeyes are searching for their 13th win when they face Texas in what would be their first season with 13 wins since the 2019 season. It will also take another victory in the national championship game to tie the program record for most wins in Ohio State football history with 14 as they try for a 9th national title.
