Ohio State remembers Oct. 12 in Eugene, and the Buckeyes have a shot to do something about it.

On the first day of 2025, Ohio State can erase the heartbreak from that fall night at Autzen Stadium, where still-unbeaten, top-seeded Oregon outlasted the Buckeyes, 32-31, in one of the best games of the year in college football.

On Monday night, almost exactly 48 hours before kickoff, Ohio State released a 1-minute, 53-second hype video for its College Football Playoff quarterfinal rematch with the Ducks at the Rose Bowl. The 8th-seeded Buckeyes have been afforded with a second chance to topple Oregon, with everything on the line this time, as the Big Ten behemoths will kick things off at around 5 p.m. ET (2 p.m. PT) on ESPN.

Here is Ohio State’s passionate hype video:

According to ESPN’s FPI predictor, the Buckeyes have a good shot to exact revenge from that October road loss and advance to the CFP semifinals next week. The FPI gives Ohio State a 53.7% chance to hand Oregon its first loss of the season and bounce the Ducks from the Playoff.

In the hype video, Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard talks about how rare second chances are in life, and how Ohio State has one of those precious second chances now. It remains to be seen what the Buckeyes will do with that chance at retribution.
