This is a tough break for one Ohio State defender.

Malik Barrow, a junior DL for the Buckeyes, announced Sunday that he is medically retiring from football. In a note shared on Twitter, Barrow stated he was thankful despite it being “rough the past couple of years.” He thanked those who helped him achieve his career and landing at Ohio State while pointing out he intends to remain at the school to graduate.

According to 247Sports, Barrow was a 4-star DL and was the No. 42 player out of the state of Florida for the class of 2016. Best of luck to Barrow in his next endeavors as his football career has come to an end.
