Ohio State had a close affair with Indiana on Saturday. The Buckeyes grinded out a 23-3 win over the Hoosiers.

While the win wasn’t all that impressive, the consecutive opening day wins for Ohio State is something to behold. The Buckeyes have now won 24 season openers in a row. The streak is currently the longest active one in the country.

Ohio State has been a very consistent football program in recent years. In order to find the last time that the Buckeyes didn’t finish with at least 11 wins, you’d have to rewind the clock to 2011.

Kyle McCord started for most of the game. He finished with 239 yards passing and 1 interception before the final whistle sounded. Miyan Williams, TreVeyon Henderson, and Chip Trayanum led the way on the ground.

Cade Stover had a stellar game in the receiving department. The veteran tight end caught 5 passes for 98 yards receiving.

Something to watch will be how long Ohio State can keep this streak going. Next up for the Buckeyes is Youngstown State on Sept. 9.
