Some Ohio State fans are preparing a rally in support Urban Meyer, following the media attention the head coach has received over the last week.

Jeff Hamms, a resident of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and a longtime Buckeyes fan, is headed to Columbus to organize the rally, according to ABC 6 News. The rally comes just days after Meyer was placed on administrative leave in wake of a bombshell report claiming the coach had knowledge of the alleged domestic violence incidents involving former assistant coach Zach Smith.

“A peaceful rally at Ohio State University for Coach Meyer just because I thought, I was thinking there’s been so much negative press with Coach Meyer,” Hamms said.

A current student, Ashley Flaherty, is also in support of the rally.

“It shows on the board reviewing what he has done, stuff like that we care and we support it,” she said.

All Ohio State fans and supporters of  Meyer all welcome to join the rally. The goal is to get as many people out supporting the head coach as possible.
