Ohio State pummeled Iowa in Columbus on Saturday. The offense was great, but defense and special teams stood out as well.

LB Tommy Eichenberg and DE Zach Harrison were highlighted by the team as the Co-Defensive Players of the Game. The Co-Special Teams Players of the Game were K Noah Ruggles and LB Chip Trayanum.

Eichenberg had 7 total tackles, 1 interception, and 1 touchdown from a pick-6 thrown by Iowa QB Spencer Petras. Harrison finished the game with 2 total tackles, 1 forced fumble, 2 tackles for loss, and 1 pass break up.

The Ohio State defense kept Iowa from staying in the game once the offense got some momentum. Iowa was held to just 158 total yards of offense and committed six turnovers before  the final whistle sounded.

Ruggles was perfect on the day going 4-for-4 on field goals and 6-for-6 on extra points. Trayanum had 1 total tackle as he kept the Iowa returners from gaining much ground.

It’ll take some more performances like this to beat Penn State in Week 9.
