Ohio State big man Kyle Young is returning for one more season with the Buckeyes, he announced on Friday morning.

Young just wrapped up what would have been his senior season, but the NCAA is allowing all players an additional year of eligibility due to the pandemic.

Young has been an impactful presence for all four years with the Buckeyes. He’s been a three-year starter, and averaged a career-high 8.6 points per game last season.

The forward has dealt with numerous injuries throughout his career, including a concussion that kept him out of the Big Ten Tournament and the NCAA Tournament this season. Still, he played in 27 games last season and had an irreplaceable role in Chris Holtmann’s system.

Fellow Ohio State forward E.J. Liddell has also left the door open to returning to Ohio State. He entered his name in the NBA draft a couple weeks ago, but did not hire an agent.
