With Fall Camp underway, we’re that much closer to the college football season, and yes, that includes players making friendly jabs at one another.

On Tuesday morning, sixth-year senior Antwuan Jackson revealed that 5-star freshman Jackson Sawyer has been calling him “Grandpa” every day.

It’s rare that a sixth-year player can still be playing college football but Jackson is doing just that. He originally enrolled at Auburn in January of 2016 but ended up going to JUCO instead. After that, he signed with Ohio State during the 2018 recruiting class and has been there ever since.

Per 247Sports Composite ranking, Jackson was considered a 4-star player and the top JUCO player from Georgia in 2018. He also was the top-ranked JUCO recruit overall for that class.

He hasn’t put up the strongest numbers with the Buckeyes but he’s still been serviceable. During the 2020 season, Jackson had 11 total tackles (5 solo) with 1 sack. In 2019, he had 13 total tackles (8 sol0) with no sacks.

We’ll have to see if Sawyer can come up with something more clever once Jackson makes some plays during the season.
