Ohio State will be honoring the life and memory of Dwayne Haskins several ways during the spring game on Saturday. One of those was revealed just before the 12 p.m. start in Columbus.

The initials “DH” were painted onto the turf inside Ohio State for Saturday’s game. The initials were placed at the 7-yard line, honoring Haskins’ No. 7 jersey, the number he wore while playing for the Buckeyes.

Austin Ward of Lettermen Row shared the image on Twitter:

“We’re going to do a couple things to tribute for Dwayne,” Day told reporters in his Thursday press conference. “At the end of the first half, we’ll do a video for him and a moment of silence before. We’ll still have a few other things we’ll do to recognize him symbolically.

“It will be nice to have Buckeye nation together for this event on Saturday, to celebrate our team and the hard work we put in the spring but also to get everybody together to honor Dwayne, and I think that’s appropriate. It’s gonna be a lot of excitement, but also some moments in the day that’ll be deep thoughts based on our memories with Dwayne playing in that stadium.”

The Ohio State family has been mourning the tragic passing of Haskins last week. Early Saturday morning Haskins was struck by a truck on a South Florida highway. There have been tributes around OSU campus, including a recent candlelight vigil.
