Ohio State hoops HC Chris Holtmann sends shoutout to Ryan Day, Buckeyes football following upset win
Following Saturday’s win over No. 15 Rutgers, Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann was likely excited to talk about his team picking up a key victory on the road against a ranked opponent.
While he did do that, he also took a moment to shoutout his colleague, Buckeye football head coach Ryan Day. This was the Ohio State’s final basketball game before the Buckeyes football team takes the field against Alabama on Monday in the national championship game.

It’s always nice to see coaches at the same athletic department shouting out each other and supporting each other.
Over the year-plus these two have stood as head coaches at the school’s two biggest athletic programs, these two seem to have developed a nice relationship. It was shown last basketball season when Ohio State knocked off rival Michigan in basketball.

So far, Day’s probably had more success as he’s led Ohio State to consecutive College Football Playoff appearances and now a spot in the national championship game. But Holtmann has had his share of success. The Buckeyes came out of the gate slow but have picked things up, including Saturday’s win that gets Ohio State back to .500 in B1G play.
