To the surprise of many, Wednesday’s Board of Trustees meeting at Ohio State to discuss the outcome of the Urban Meyer investigation has not yet finished.

Jeff Snook, an Ohio State journalism graduate and author of multiple Buckeyes books, has reported via his Facebook page throughout the Meyer/Zach Smith situation. His latest update, as of 6 p.m. ET, is that Meyer will not be fired, but that the unsettled matter is rather if Meyer will be suspended.

According to Snook, the head coach has argued he should not be suspended as he believes he did nothing wrong. Meyer has been on paid administrative leave since Aug. 1.

Snook’s not the only plugged-in media member reporting that Meyer is fighting missing any more time. Dave Biddle of 247Sports has also shared that Meyer has told the board he would reject a suspension. Biddle reports that Meyer would rather be fired by OSU than face suspension.
