Ohio State’s performance in the College Football Playoff left a lasting impression on the sport, capped by Monday night’s 34-23 victory over Notre Dame in the national title game.

And 2 days later, ESPN rewarded the Buckeyes by putting 10 Ohio State players on its list of the best 100 players of this season. Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter of Colorado was No. 1 on the list, and certainly that makes sense, too, but the Buckeyes dominated the list like they dominated the Playoff in capturing their first national title in a decade.

The top Ohio State player on the list came in at No. 5, and not surprisingly it was wide receiver phenom Jeremiah Smith, who lit up the Notre Dame secondary on Monday night to cap his historic freshman season.

Safety Caleb Downs was the next Buckeye on the list at No. 18, as he dominated in the Big Ten the same way he did the SEC during his freshman season at Alabama. Defensive end Jack Sawyer was No. 22 on the list, with Sawyer’s defensive touchdown to seal the semifinal win over Texas going down in Ohio State football lore.

The rest of the Buckeyes on the list included: offensive tackle Donovan Jackson (No. 32), defensive end JT Tuimoloau (No. 35), quarterback Will Howard (No. 57), safety Lathan Ransom (No. 60), wide receiver Emeka Egbuka (No. 78), center Seth McLaughlin (No. 82) and running back TreVeyon Henderson (No. 83).
