Ohio State signed 4-star running back Anthony “Turbo” Rogers on Wednesday, as the Buckeyes got a huge boost to their backfield room for 2025 to begin the Early Signing Period.

And Ohio State snagged Rogers right out of Alabama’s grasp, with the 5-foot-9, 190-pounder out of Montgomery, Alabama, having initially committed to Nick Saban’s staff in June 2023. He kept his commitment to the Crimson Tide until last month.

Rogers’ decommitment from Alabama followed his fall official visits to Georgia and Ohio State. He told ESPN that the program and his relationship with Ohio State running backs coach Carlos Locklyn were among the primary factors in pulling his pledge to the Buckeyes.

“God’s Plan,” said Rogers on social media.

“It just feels like the right place for me to develop as an athlete and a man,” Rogers told ESPN.

He chose the Buckeyes over Georgia, with both programs in his final 2 choices. Rogers also held offers from USC and Texas A&M.

Rogers was graded as a 4-star prospect by 247Sports Composite rankings and was rated as the No. 9 running back prospect in the nation’s 2025 class. He is the 10th-rated 2025 recruit out of the state of Alabama and the top running back prospect from the state, according to the same grading.
