Ohio State picked up a big-time defensive prospect via the 2024 recruiting class Monday evening.

This time, the commitment comes from Garrett Stover, an in-state prospect and 4-star recruit out of Big Walnut High School in Sunbury. Per Cleveland.com, Garrett Stover is the cousin of current Buckeye Cade Stover.

“After a lot of thought I’ve decided to commit to The Ohio State University,” Stover wrote in his announcement. “I’d like to thank everyone that has supported me throughout this process and all of the programs that recruited me!”

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, the 6-foot-2 and 195-lb. Stover is a 4-star ATH via the class of 2024. He is rated the No. 17 ATH and No. 168 player nationally for the cycle.

Stover has played at linebacker and safety in high school, and it’s unclear where he best slots in for the future. Either way, he is a strong defender and is a nice pickup for the Buckeyes.

Stover’s commitment gives Ohio State 3 early pledges for the class of 2024, including from the nation’s No. 1 player in QB Dylan Raiola.
